In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other – the chance to return to life.
Through a wondrously funny and touching series of songs, the teen contestants argue that they should be the ones to be saved. Told with moving insights into adolescence as well as dark comedic style benefiting the outrageousness of its premise, Ride The Cyclone is a memorable and original musical.
What makes a life well-lived? Who deserves to have a second chance? Which are the memories that we will treasure? All these questions and more are answered in Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell’s stunning work.
MEET THE CAST
Billy Mann (The Amazing Karnak) is thrilled to join Phantom’s production of Ride the Cyclone! His colorful background as a former professional freestyle skier, college education in mechanical engineering, costar role in a nationally theatrically released movie titled Villains Inc., and global travels for social media influencing jobs has greatly informed Billy’s lust for life & comedy.
Adam Leiva (Noel Gruber) is excited to make his Phantom Projects debut in such a great show as Ride the Cyclone. He hopes you leave tonight knowing that even though life can be short, always remember to laugh, cry, and enjoy the ride. As always all his love to his amazing agent Scott Cook, his incredible friends, and his amazing mother. Addy Shoup (Ocean O’Connell Rosenberg) is thrilled to be making her Phantom Projects Theatre debut in Ride the Cyclone, a dream show of hers, and she couldn’t be happier to finally be a part of it! She’s 19 and entering her second year at Fullerton College as a Theatre Arts major. Favorite credits include Cathy (The Last Five Years), Val (A Chorus Line), Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors), and Annabeth (The Lightning Thief). When she’s not on stage, Addy can often be found listening to audiobooks or writing her own rom-coms. Special thanks to the creative team, as well as her castmates and family, for their unwavering support throughout this journey.
Derek Freeman (Mischa Bachinsky) is incredibly excited to be doing Ride the Cyclone as his first show with Phantom. Derek has been doing theatre for 4 years and his past experience includes roles like Jack Kelly in Newsies and Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd. Derek loves to play video games and go to the gym in his free time. Derek has an overwhelming passion for the arts and wants to always be creating something and falling in love with the art he creates. Derek would like to thank his family and friends for being his support systems in times of stress and worry especially when it comes to theatre.
Eileen Goodwin Sandoval (Constance Blackwood) is so excited to return to the Phantom Projects stage! Recent credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Crystal) with Phantom Projects Theatre, Avenue Q (Gary Coleman) at the Long Beach Playhouse, and All Shook Up (Sylvia) with Top Billing Entertainment. She wants to thank the entire creative team for their trust and guidance as well as her family, friends, husband, and cats for their love and support!
Georgia Kate (Jane Doe) is ecstatic to be performing an absolute dream role in this extraordinary production of Ride the Cyclone! This will now be her 3rd show with Phantom Projects after being seen in Be More Chill (Chloe) & Bye Bye Birdie (Gloria). Having studied Musical Theater at Fullerton College, you can currently find Georgia performing as an Entertainment CM at the Disneyland Resort! Some other favorite credits include: Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas (Nancy, Chance Theater, Mamma Mia (Sophie, TVP), Sunday in the Park with George (Dot, Legendary Theatricals), and Grease (Sandy, Cabrillo Playhouse). Georgia would like to thank her parents, friends and her loving fiancé Ethan for always being her biggest supporters in life! Please enjoy the show!
Joshua Michael Velez (Ricky Potts) is ecstatic to be returning to the Phantom Projects Theatre for this production of Ride the Cyclone! MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM
Steve Cisneros (Director, Founder, Producing Artistic Director) created Phantom Projects Theatre Group as a senior in high school, at the age of 17. He has produced over 300 plays, musicals, concerts and special events, and has directed nearly 150. The Covid closures stopped two national tours he produced and directed which had performed at sold out venues (including the Smithsonian Institute) in 5 states.
At the age of 19, Cisneros spearheaded a proposal that sparked a partnership with Phantom Projects and the City of La Mirada to bridge the gap in their annual programing. The new partnership created the “Theatre for a Teen Audience” series, and allowed the troupe to become a resident presenting group at the 1,300 seat La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. The annual season, with a focus on arts education, has included World Premieres, West Coast Premieres, and California Premieres of shows such as Wonder, The Giver, The Watsons go to Birmingham, #TheSociaMediaPlay, Through These Eyes and many more. The unique partnership has been covered by CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, KCAL and dozens more media outlets.
He’s had the pleasure of managing various theatres along the way including Nederlander’s Hollywood Pantages Theatre, South Coast Repertory, La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, and Poway Center for the Performing Arts.
In 2021, The City of La Habra chose Phantom Projects to take over the management and operations of the historic La Habra Depot. After 6 months of renovations, the venue reopened with a Gala featuring Aloe Blacc and Maya Jupiter, under the new name, The Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot.
Before turning to producing, he booked a variety of pilots and commercials as a young actor, and performed on stages all over Southern California before “retiring” at the age of 15 after an extended run in Los Angeles with the West Coast Premiere of “The Boiler Room” with Ivonne Coll (Directed by Alex Colon). His role in American Me with Edward James Olmos has him often appearing at various fan events with other actors from the cult-favorite.
Phantom wouldn’t be possible without his parents and their allowing of him to rehearse the earlier years in their driveway (and their living room when it rained). He’s incredibly thankful for every member of the Phantom Phamily who has ever provided their time, talents, and energy to the dream. Theatre matters. You matter.
Jennifer Kornswiet (Choreographer) is an award-winning choreographer and dance teacher from Orange County, California, and is thrilled to be back at The Phantom Projects Theatre after choreographing Be More Chill and A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tale. She made her Off-Broadway debut choreographing Waiting In The Wings: The Musical at The Theatre at St. Clement’s in New York City in Spring 2023, and won the BroadwayWorld Off-Broadway Award for Best Original Choreography for her work. Jen also won the 2025 Orange County Theatre Guild Award for Outstanding Choreography for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at The Wayward Artist. Jen has choreographed over 35 musical theatre productions including Cabaret, Six, Newsies, Legally Blonde, Big Fish, Full Monty, Elf, Mary Poppins, and Falsettos. She holds dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees from The Ohio State University in Film Studies and Strategic Communications, and was one of the emerging choreographers selected to be part of the 2019 Broadway Choreography Intensive through Dance Lab New York. Jen is currently choreographing multiple shows throughout Orange County, and is a dancer/performer in Disneyland parades. Thank you to mom, family, and friends for your unwavering support, and to this amazing cast for all of their hard work and contagious energy during rehearsals. Have fun riding the Cyclone!
Gabrielle Maldonado (Music Director) is an accomplished educator, composer, music director, performer, and USC alumna, actively shaping Southern California’s vibrant musical theatre landscape while teaching at local colleges. Gabrielle’s extensive credits include music directing and playing the OCTG award winning production of “American Idiot” at Chance Theater, the OCTG-nominated production of “Beautiful” with Southgate Productions, the NAACP-nominated “The Prince of Egypt” with TNH Productions and CASA0101, and the collegiate premiere of “Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812.” Gabrielle has also served as Vocal Supervisor for “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” at La Mirada Theatre. Beyond these roles, Gabrielle engages in a variety of creative projects, notably as a composer and lyricist for Broadway World nominated, “Arena: A House Musical,” and “The Ride,” both original pieces highlighting personal stories surrounding the AIDS crisis and the AIDS/LifeCycle fundraising bike ride through California. “Arena” first premiered at CASA0101 in Boyle Heights and later at the Renberg Theatre in Los Angeles. Gabrielle’s diverse music direction credits also include other more familiar titles such as “Legally Blonde,” “Hairspray,” “The Secret Garden,” “RENT,” “Ride the Cyclone,” “Sister Act,” “Carrie,” and “Songs for a New World.” Having music directed nearly 80 productions, she continues to expand her skills as an educator, inspiring fellow artists, supporting emerging talent, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative live theatre community. Her passion for fostering creativity and connection through music drives her ongoing dedication to advancing the art form she loves.
Briana Sanchez (Production Stage Manager) is a Theatre Arts major at California State University, Long Beach, where she continues to develop her craft in theatre on and off stage.Her past productions include The Taming of the Shrew and Romeo and Juliet( Whittier Shakes Theater Co.) The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Bye Bye Birdie, and The SpongeBob Musical (Phantom Projects Theatre), Cats (Next Level Theatre) where she served as Assistant Stage Manager and Production Stage Manager. She excited to return to Phantom Projects Theatre for another show!
Andy Conde (Costume Designer) is thrilled to be joining Phantom Projects Theatre for his fourth production. He extends his sincere thanks to Steve and Zoe for their continued support and the opportunity to be part of another exciting project. His costume credits include: Small Engine Repair, Airness, Mean Girls, Macbeth, The Crucible, Mamma Mia!, and Clue: On Stage. He looks forward to many more collaborations in the future.
Zoe Wilber (Props Master & Set Dresser) graduated from Chapman University in 2021 with a BFA in Theatre Performance. She has been the general manager for Phantom Projects since Fall 2023, prop master and set dresser since Fall 2024, and resident costume designer for Phantom Projects Theatre productions since Fall 2022. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with this production team and talent actors! Shout out to Eddie, love you lots.
Jacob Antisdel (Sound Designer) is honored to be a part of “Ride The Cyclone”! Jacob has been working with Phantom since January 2025. He graduated last year from Cal State Dominguez Hills with a BA in Audio Engineering. Jacob is thankful for the opportunity to work with such incredible talent and creatives for “Ride The Cyclone” and hopes you enjoy the show! He would like to thank his family and his girlfriend Jennifer for their continued support.
Catherine Oregon (Assistant Director) is so excited to work with Phantom Projects again for Ride the Cyclone as an Assistant Director. She is a Hispanic-American actress and director born and raised in Los Angeles, Catherine began her journey in community theatre, where she developed her craft. She has performed in over 30 productions, both locally and professionally. Catherine has successfully transitioned to film and television, bringing her theatrical experience to the screen. Based in LA, she is passionate about representing diverse stories in the entertainment industry and continues to captivate audiences with her performances and direction.
Via Forman (Assistant to the Music Director) is an LA based performer & Phantom Projects’ Theatre Arts Educator. Thank you to all who have supported her throughout her artistic career! Recent performance credits include; YLS Players’ She Loves Me as Amalia Understudy/Ensemble, Phantom Projects’ James and The Giant Peach as Spider, Cypress College’s Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 as Princess Mary Bolkonsky. Saturn Fieger (Costume Stitcher) has been working with Phantom Projects on and off since 2024. He has always had a love for the arts so getting to work with Phantom Projects has been a dream come true! He loves sewing and working with people so getting this chance to work as a costuming helper is amazing. “Don’t dream it. Be it.”
